This week in Daffodils we have learnt about the importance of sleep and how it can affect us in many ways, both physically and mentally. We were joined by BEAM every morning, who helped us with coping techniques, getting better sleep and why we need a good night sleep. They talked to us about the five ways to well being and understanding our emotions. We watched a clip from the Disney film Inside out to show us how our emotions change the way we react and behave in certain situations and why its ok to feel certain emotions, it's how we deal with them. We had a visitor from Shropshire children's mental health team, who read us the story 'How to fill my bucket' which is all about how to be kind and make people feel better. We now have our own bucket which we can fill every time someone fills our bucket or we fill theirs! Yoga is a way of becoming more mindful and a way to relax. We were so lucky to be able to have a session of yoga to show us how we could do it at home. To end our pyjama day we were joined by Siobhan from Oswestry library to read us some bed time stories. We listened to some of our favourites Peace at last and Where's my Teddy! PSHE - Internet safetyRichard Smith talked to us about how we can be safe online. We viewed an online game and discussed what we thought was safe about it and what wasn't safe about it. He told us about what to do if we thought something wasn't safe. There is more information about internet safety on his website www.amazingict.co.uk

To end our fantastic topic on the 1960's, we travelled back in time to the 1960's. We dressed up and created some 1960's inspired pop art. We even went to the famous Cavern club to sing some of The Beatles songs. We looked at the work of Andy Warhol and James Rosenquist to create our own pop art. All you need is love.... Today we investigated what a fossil is. We discovered how a fossil is formed and the process of fossilisation. We even had a go at making our very own fossils! How can you be a shining light and help others? Our class assembly today, was delivered by Jane Webber and we thought about how we could be a shining light and help others.
