We linked this summer's DT project with our history of Victorian Toys. We all built a working Pull-along truck from cardboard boxes, using cardboard wheels and wooden rods for the axles. We realised that the wheels didn't turn easily on the rod and that if we taped the rod to the bottom of the box it wouldn't be free to turn around. So we inserted each rod into a straw which was taped to the box and used blue tack to fix the wheels in place - problem solved! Here are some photos whilst we were working on our trucks: And here are all the finished products.
