Following our work on Florence Nightingale, we had a visit from Sally, who talked to us about her job as a nurse. We found out how she became a nurse, as we discovered that Florence went against her parents wishes and went to school. Women were not meant to go out to work, which we decided was very unfair! We found out about how Florence's work on cleanliness is still applied today and we even got to try out some of the equipment! Enhanced provision in Alps this termAs part of our enhanced provision, we have been doing some research on the life of the Victorians and making some repetitive patterns just like the work of the Victorian artist William Morris. In our maths lessons we have been learning about capacity, so we have had the opportunity to explore various measuring equipment in the water tray. We have even got our own Doctors surgery, we have the most advanced practitioners at our surgery, just call in for an appointment! It is important we find time to read in Alps. Our reading corner is the best place to choose our favourite book with our friends and enjoy reading!
