Shackleton and his 27 crew members, set sail on this hazardous journey to the South Pole. We slowly and cautiously stepped onto the gangplank and made our way onto the Endurance for the first time.... We got to work quickly to ensure that the journey was a success. But oh no! Disaster struck! The ship became stuck in ice in the Wedell sea. The situation got worse, no matter how hard the crew tried to save the Endurance, the ship became crushed by ice and began to drift towards the North. Endurance began to sink. The crew saved all of the dogs on board and managed to to set up a safe camp. They safely got on to three life boats and sailed for 7 days. Eventually, after 7 days days at sea the crew arrived safely at Elephant Island. Shackleton did not let his crew down and all of his crew were rescued. I just can't imagine how the crew would have felt seeing the rescue team.... Friday celebration assemblyOur first certificate of achievement was given out today in our celebration assembly. Well done!
