Shamrocks have been learning to use a chord sequence to accompany their singing performances including a percussive accompaniment. They have been extending their knowledge of how music is produced and communicated. I hope you enjoy their performance!

Roses have been learning to play Roman motifs to accompany a Roman song that they have been learning to perform. They have been learning to adjust pitch, duration, tempo and learning to read appropriate musical notations. I hope you enjoy their Roman performance!

Today, we were exploring ragtime and listening to works by Scott Joplin. We also identified syncopated rhythms from extracts of the Jungle books.

• To sing and clap a syncopated rhythm for a ragtime style song

We have been learning to play our instruments. To improve our performance we have been thinking about taking it in turns to play and building our piece to have rhythm and dynamics.

As our composition is for a superhero theme tune it increases in tempo, and we build our rhythm and melodic structure.
