Welcome back to a new year and an exciting new term.
Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas service and for the generous donations to The Children's Society We hope you enjoyed the wonderful retelling of the Christmas story from the point of view of the Christmas Star and the lovely singing and instrumental performances in the service. The children made a great start to the spring term last week There will be a history focus in all the classes this term with children in the Bluebells finding out about the Great Fire of London; the Daffodils about the intrepid men and women who made first flights; the Roses Class will be finding out about the Roman Invasion and Settlement in Britain and the Shamrocks will be studying World War 2 in Oswestry. There will be lots of Mantle of the Expert drama work to bring these historical periods to life. Of course there will also be the full range of other subjects. Science will be focusing on chemistry ( materials and their properties ) and already the Roses are well in to their DT project making a sling shot car. Teachers have been busy planning great art, RE , PSHE and PE lessons for this term. This term year 5s will visit Arthog a children take part lots of wellbeing and relaxation activities as part of our Living Well : Sleep Well week at the end of the February half term. We are all looking forward to a fantastic 2023 Mrs C and Mr E |
