Governors

The Governing Body

The principal role of Governors in our Federation and individual school is to support the Executive Headteacher, Head of School and staff in providing an exceptional learning experience, and act as ‘a critical friend’. Governance is about setting the vision and the strategic direction for the school, and then holding the Headteacher and staff to account for delivering it. The Headteacher is tasked, with their team, with achieving the vision.

The Governing Board's legal duties include: setting strategic direction, policies and objectives; approving the school budget; reviewing progress against the school's budget, vision and objectives; and appointing, challenging and supporting the Headteacher.
The Full Pathway Primary Federation Governing Board meet at least twice every term to discuss issues across the two federation schools ( Morda  and Whittington ). The Morda Primary Local Governing Body also meet twice a term for more specific Morda based issues. There are also a number of committees that review and monitor progress in particular aspects of running the school.  The Governance Committee and the Policies Committee meet each term. There are some smaller committees that meet less frequently and as required, for example the Performance Management, Staff & Salaries Committee and the Complaints Committee. The Link Governors are appointed to work with the professional staff to review specific aspects of the operation of the school and Class Governors are appointed to understand what is being taught and support staff.  All Governor activity is reported to and reviewed by the Full Governing Body.
