Computing

Intent

At Morda we are passionate for our children to experience a creative technological curriculum where pupils develop skills following ten strands in a content taxonomy for their future educational career navigating a connected world. Computational thinking aids children to solve problems, design systems, express themselves creatively in a digital world.
From Foundation onward, Morda pupils are introduced to a range of technology to stimulate learning accessing online content, IPADs and laptops and establishing a secure and robust e-safety Curriculum

Implementation

Picture
From Foundation onward, Morda pupils are introduced to a range of technology to stimulate learning accessing online content, IPADs and laptops and establishing a secure and robust e-safety Curriculum.
This year we are delivering a Computer Science and Information Technology curriculum through Teaching Units provided by Teach Computing from the National Centre for Computing Education and STEM Learning. Kapow complements our learning instilling the importance of E-Safety and it’s influence on Children’s health and well-being.

IMPACT

As a Year 6 computing student, children should be confident digital users who are able to manipulate computing systems and networks, create Vector Drawings, create web pages and digital content, developing mature programming skills to design their own content for games and other uses,  be able to manipulate data into spreadsheets to create charts and evaluate their results. This will equip them to enter a digital world in their futures lives and careers.
