We watched Operation Ouch video https://video.link/w/G1gJ it told us about fuelling the body and it looked at what food does for our bodies and why having a balance of food intake and activity is important. We talked about what energetic activities they do during the week, making sure they understand what is meant by this. (They sweat, become out of breath, heart beats faster, etc.) Do we use more energy on some days than others? How might this change the food we would need? Food is important for your body and your mind; eating healthily keeps your mood level, can stop you from getting ill or feeling tired and helps you to concentrate and maintain a positive attitude.
We created our own healthy diary plan which looked at our diet, what exercise we had done and how much rest we had.
Come and visit the wonderful city of Madrid.....
What could be inside this folder? Who could they belong to? We discovered that in the folder there were documents, photos, maps, and a passport.
Having established that the items belonged to a tour operator in Spain, we wondered what this person might need if they were to prepare for a guided walk around a city in Spain.
We meet ‘a man in a mess’, his business is not as busy as it used to be, he doesn’t know why. He takes tourists on guided walks around the city of Madrid, showing them landmarks and important places. However, times are changing and tourists want more interactive and exciting tours.
“How can my business survive this? I’m so worried I can’t keep up with the larger companies. My family business has been around for generations, I need to move with the times, but I don’t know how…. I know Madrid like the back of my hand and can show tourists the real Madrid. How can I make the tours more exciting and the maps easier for UK tourists to follow?”
“Is there a way that we can help?” “Do you think we could help this tour guide?”
“Is it possible for us to become travel agents and help to make his business more modern and attractive to UK tourists?” "How are we going to help him?"
“Do we know much about Madrid?”
Together, we drew an outline of the map of Madrid. We then wrote on the map what we think we will need to find out about Madrid to help the tour operator.
Off we go on our way to Spain..... "Please listen to the cabin crew for the safety instructions" "Enjoy your flight!"
Where is Spain?
We located Spain using a globe, Google maps and atlases. Can you locate the main oceans that surround Spain and the bordering countries?
