Welcome to our Eco school blog. We will keep you updated on any of our projects in school and our community. We have gained our bronze award and working towards our silver award. If you have any eco ideas please let our warriors know!
Eco-Schools is a seven step framework that thousands of schools, nurseries and colleges around the world use to introduce, manage and complete environmental actions in their organisation and local community. The Seven Steps aim to place young people at the heart of these environmental actions. This approach engages, motivates and empowers young people to care for our planet now and throughout their lifetimes.
These seven steps are:
  1. Eco-Committee, a group of students in school who are responsible for all things Eco-Schools.
  2. Environmental Review, this is for the committee to review at the beginning of the school year of their learning environment and provide inspiration to Eco-Committees.
  3. Action Plan, the committee devise a plan for environmental actions in our school after the environmental review has taken place. These can be termly, weekly or year long actions.
  4. Curriculum Links, we include environmental issues in our school’s learning.
  5. Informing and Involving, we include all pupils, staff members and our local community in Eco-Schools work.
  6. Monitoring and Evaluation, this is where we measure the impact of the projects in our Action Plan.
  7. Eco-Code, its our rallying call that everyone can get behind!
