At Morda Primary School our vision for Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) is to introduce foreign language and culture to our upper Key Stage 2 children in a fun and interactive way.
Our aim is to ensure that all children make good progress through engagement and inspiration. We believe that the learning of a foreign language provides a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for pupils. Pupils enjoy being introduced to a new language and will explore differences and similarities between the foreign language (German, in our case) and English. They also learn about the different culture, food and way of life in Germany.
The study of Primary Languages prepares pupils to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly carried out in languages other than English. Mrs Cholmondeley has been our Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Leader since April 2018. She is a member of the school’s support staff and leads MFL. Mrs Cholmondeley lived in Germany for over four years and can both speak and write in the language. Her experience means that she is an asset to the school.
