We talked about healthy food choices and studied the Eat Well Plate. We talked about healthier bread options and why whole grain is good for our diet. Everyone selected healthy ingredients and made a healthy harvest sandwich which we then shared with parents at our harvest tea.

The reading champions put on their chef’s hats and false moustaches and chose different genres of books that they thought the pupils in the different classes would like, setting out trays of poetry, biographies, non-fiction and fiction to be delivered to the tables for the visiting classes to sample. Pupils completed a menu plan, choosing a book from each different genre for each course of a meal, with many taking away a new book to read which they hadn’t considered before.
Family members and carers visited the library after school to see the wide range of new books available to borrow and to experience the ‘Cafe’. Pupils in Shamrocks Class described how they enjoyed the French style of the Cafe and liked trying out new books, especially poetry. Well done Morda reading champions for hosting a great event! Well done Mrs H Jones!! - For more photos please go to the Our Learning Reading page |
