Welcome Back ...
...everybody! Hope you have all managed to have some fun and a good rest during the half-term break. Our key-worker care has successfully reopened today with children enjoying themselves with lots of outdoor activities.
Can we remind all key-workers who have registered and anyone who may not be known to us
as critical workers, that we have space for 24 children and there are vacancies at the moment. Email Amber on firstname.lastname@example.org or give her a call on 07375940218 to register and book a place. If the provision becomes over-subscribed, priority will be given to NHS, Social Care and Education workers and vulnerable pupils.
On wider opening: local authorities and schools across the country have a range of approaches to this most difficult of issues. At Morda we are carefully considering guidance from the government, Shropshire Council and unions, as well as monitoring national data and the scientific debate. We are taking a very cautious approach which is in line with the feedback given by you as parents.
Looking at the available evidence at the moment, we feel the most prudent approach is to wait until the 15th June before we look again at a staggered reopening. Parents need to be aware that any wider opening after that date will be strictly limited by the space available. As is the case in some other local schools, we will not be able to accomodate all of years R, 1 and 6 and Key Worker children. Before we begin the return we will be looking for a significant reduction the level of infection both nationally and locally, at the effectiveness of the Test/Trace/Isolate system (TTI) and seeking guidance from relevant professional and governmental bodies.
In the meantime we really appreciate the hard work you are all putting into the virtual learning activities. It's not as good as being in school but it helps a lot. We are so looking forward to seeing all the children back in school when it is safe.
