Having researched the Battle of Senlac Ridge Hastings - we imagined ourselves on the battle field the night before the battle...wondering what fate lay ahead of us. Can you spot the wounded soldiers being treated, the horses being tended, men eating, drinking praying and trying to get some rest on that fateful night? We used our drama to help us produce writing for our documentary about the Anglo Saxons .

We read, watched a cartoon version of the opening of the Anglo Saxon story of Beowulf. We studied images of the great hall and imagined being there - see our in-role photographs . In literacy we write a storyteller narration describing the hall on that fateful night.
We thought about why people give money, time, goods and support to charity. We discussed our school Christian values of Courage, Compassion and Fairness and how the work of charities showed these values. We thought about the charities which we liked to support, and made posters for those charities explaining why they were important to use.
