Year 6 SATs WB 09.05.23

I hope you have all had a wonderful and restful long weekend celebrating The King's Coronation!

Year 6 - the time for our SATs test is finally upon us! You have all been working so hard in the build up to these tests and should be extremely proud of yourselves, as we are so proud of each and every one of you. Remember, all you can do this week is your best so please don't stress. We already know how wonderful you all are, so do your best to showcase this but do not worry if you have an off day or even week.

Please remember to get a good nights sleep tonight so that you are well rested and ready to go. Remember that school starts at 8am tomorrow morning with a Marvellous Morda Breakfast, so set your alarms and bring yourselves to school early ready for a delicious and nutritious start to the day.

A reminder that the timetable for the SATs tests is as follows:

  • Tuesday 9th May: English grammar, punctuation and spelling (GPS) papers 1 (questions) and 2 (spelling)
  • Wednesday 10th May: English Reading paper
  • Thursday 11th May: Mathematics papers 1 (arithmetic) and 2 (reasoning)
  • Friday 12th May: Mathematics paper 3 (reasoning)

  • All that is left for me to say is "Good Luck" and to end on this poem with the perfect sentiment...

    Poem About SATS
    Unknown Author

    SATS don’t measure sports,
    SATS don’t measure art,
    SATS don’t measure music
Or the kindness in your heart.

    SATS don’t see your beauty,
    SATS don’t know your worth,
    SATS don’t know the reason
You were put upon this Earth.

    SATS don’t see your magic,
    How you make others smile,
    SATS don’t time how quickly
    You can run a mile.

    SATS don’t hear your laughter,
Or see you’ve come this far,
SATS are just a tiny glimpse
    Of who you really are.

    So sitting at your table
With your pencil and your test,
Remember SATS aren’t who you are,
    Remember you're the best!

From Mrs Holmes (and all of the Morda Staff)
