Hello and welcome to our little school just south of Oswestry in North West Shropshire. We are rooted in the heart of our village community with its history of mills, mining and farming. Morda was home to the Oswestry area's workhouse and children from that institution were some of our first pupils back in 1876.
Our school community is diverse, reflecting the wonderful mix of people who live in our catchment area. We get on well and we all do our best to hold to our core Christian values of Compassion, Courage and Fairness in all that we do. Our learning, especially, seeks to imprint these values like the words through a stick of Blackpool Rock.
Parents and carers are very involved in the school, Friends of Morda School (FoMS) recently raised funds to subsidise transport for school trips, in addition they arranged sponsorship with Oswald's Cars to provide a new sports kit for inter-schools competitions.
The staff are dedicated and diligent; always seeking to improve the school experience and to find the best ways to inculcate the wide range of knowledge and skills the children need to take with them to secondary school and beyond.
Our top priority, though, is the children's physical and emotional wellbeing. We work very hard to meet the different needs of all the children and their families. Some need a little helping hand and some understanding; others need a lot of care and support: everyone at Morda gets special treatment.
