Religious EducationIntent Our R.E curriculum inspires pupils to become knowledgeable and insightful students with a broad religious knowledge. Students will have a deep understanding of the Christian Faith in a sustained and meaningful context of the major world religions, and an awareness of how this impacts people’s value system and behaviours.

Pupils are taught the Shropshire Agreed Syllabus which takes a questioning approach to children’s learning. Fourteen key Questions form the basis of each unit of work in accordance with recommendations from the Church of England resource ‘Understanding Christianity’. Examples of some of the questions covered include RQ9 what do people believe about God? Or How do people make sense of life and death? Providing students with an engaging curriculum that helps student make sense of the world around them, their own world view and understand and empathise with global citizenship giving them a positive impact on their local and global environment.
Impact
Children will then use specific learning outcomes to equip them knowledge, understanding and skills to handle questions raised by religion and belief, reflecting on their own ideas and ways of living being able to critical responses and personal reflections with increasing clarity and understanding.
