Vision for Music LearningINTENT : At Morda our Music curriculum seeks to inspire students with an enduring love of music. Pupils will have the opportunity to perform a range of instruments either physically or virtually and develop skills in the inter-related dimensions of music including pulse, pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structures and appropriate musical notation.
IMPLEMENTATION: Morda uses the Kapow Music scheme as the basis for music lessons following three main strands; performing, listening and composing. Children are taught a sequence of learning in half termly topic blocks meeting the statutory requirements to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of great composers and musicians. They will learn to sing to create and compose music on their own and with others. All children will learn instruments (including ukuleles and percussion) progressing in skill and difficulty, using technology appropriately and musical notation and technical language. Children will listen to music and learn songs from other cultures and times gaining an appreciation of the importance of Music as a global uniting form of expression. Impact |
