After last year's World Book Day Masked Reader Event and the Autumn term Morda Reading Cafe - Mrs Jones our Reading Champion had a lot to live up to - but she did us proud organising a wonderful shared reading 'Book Blast'.
The event really was a blast! Younger children loved being read to by older children. Children in the Daffodils Class also took part in a World Book Day on-line reading event and we had a special World Book Day assembly. Here's Mrs Jones's review of a wonderful World Book Day and some fab photos - just look at how engaged those readers are! To celebrate World Book Day we held an event in the library, with pupils in years 5 and 6 choosing a book to share with the pupils in Bluebells Class. After practising reading the books and thinking of ways to involve the younger pupils in the books, the pupils from Shamrocks and Roses class shared their books with confidence and enthusiasm. Bluebells Class enjoyed being read to in the library and they all want to do this again! The school governors, Mrs Leach and Mrs Shaw, came in to see the event and to help. Well done to everyone involved! Mrs H. Jones (Morda Book Champion).
