I know Mr D has really loved his time at Morda. However, the family were lucky enough to move to their “forever house” a few years ago which was not ideally placed for Morda. On top of all the pressures, the long commute really has been too much.
Some of you know just how hard our teachers work, regularly putting in 70- or 80-hour weeks (yes really!) with part-time staff working what would be full-time hours in any other job just so they can have some flexibility and time with their families at the weekend. (Don’t mention the holidays btw – it doesn’t add up to much given the excessive hours in term-time and the jobs they get done in during holidays). It only just-about works is when teachers love their jobs. Luckily, ours do love helping your children to learn and grow. But add in a long commute or caring for a relative and the scales tip over too far. So, Mr D will be less then 10 minutes from his new school and I’m sure he will also progress in his career brilliantly from there – which is the good news. We’re really happy for him but we’re all sad to be waving him goodbye in November. |
