It has been a marvellous start to our learning at Morda!
Bluebells Class: The new Reception children have settled in well. They certainly feel like part of the Morda family. It has been lovely to meet our new families at the beginning and end of the day. Please take time to have a chat with us on the gate. Year 1s are looking very grown up and helping the new children. There has been lots of lovely outdoor learning in our outdoor area and children have begun to find out about the recent past before they were born and their family history. Daffodils Class: The Daffodils Class are already well underway with their intrepid (drama) expedition to the South Pole with Ernest Shackleton. Ask them about their adventures so far! The year 2s have settled in brilliantly and love looking after the class stick insect! Roses Class: In the Roses Class, our team of archaeologists have already discovered a Paleolithic cave painting on their archaeological investigation. Their writing describing their discovery is truly inspirational! Year 4s are well established and enjoying their learning and looking after Bubbles the fish! Shamrocks Class: The pupils in Shamrocks are really setting the tone for fantastic behaviour and learning. They have been great role models around school. Shamrocks have begun their history topic about the fascinating Ancient Islamic Civilization. After initial teething problems, we seem to be up and running with our new IT system. Our delicious school meals (brought in fresh from Whittington) are going well. Children are enjoying their dinners. Parent Pay is now up and running. If you have any issues please contact our lovely admin team: Laura, Amanda or Eva. It has been great to have Mr Rogers input. He is introducing Pozzy Notes and #HotChocFriday this week. I’m sure the children will tell you all about that! I’m delighted to be in my new role as Head of School and look forward to a fantastic year. Mrs Helen Chapman (Head of School ) Message from the Executive Headteacher
What a brilliant first two weeks at Pathway Primary Federation! I’ve had the pleasure of spending time in both of our schools and have seen so much to celebrate. The way in which the children have come back to classes after the summer holidays has been really impressive. Children have been focused in their learning and getting into good habits early in the year. My challenge to the children has been to set the tone for the year through their actions in these early days. They have taken up the task with a remarkable energy! This puts us all in a great position to make this year an incredible one for learning and memorable experiences. As we begin this journey as a family of schools, I have been heartened and enthused by the support and challenge that we have been receiving from our school communities. Staff have begun to work together across the two schools with some exciting opportunities planned for the children in the near future. We’ll look forward to communicating these soon. At Morda, my priorities are to learn names and to get used to daily routines and ways of working. The children are doing a super job in testing me on their names and I’m getting used to Morda routines, as I aim to be more help than hindrance to staff! My thanks to all for making me so welcome. This newsletter will be provided each week to let everyone in our school communities know some of the brilliant things that are happening in our schools. Have a wonderful weekend.
