PSHE Lesson Challenging Stereotypes: Disabilities

We thought about people who have disabilities and whether this effected how we saw them and our expectations of what people with disabilities could achieve. We watched an amazing video about the Invictus Games .which really challenged our thinking. See your comments bellow. Lottie : I didn’t know that someone ion a wheelchair could do a back flip
Kai: I didn’t know that blind people could play football using a sound ball with a bell in it.
Alan : I saw a girl who didn’t have arms play the guitar in a rock band.
Albie: I didn’t know that people could play basketball in wheel chairs.
Erin: It was cool that a man could play piano  with his feet.
Ashley : I didn’t know that  people could be so good at gymnastics who only has one leg
Cara: I didn’t know that people with no arms could swim and race in swimming
Ruby: I didn’t know that a person with an amputated leg could dance so well
AJ: People can play football with only one leg.
Albie: I didn’t know that people could do the high jump with only one leg.
Victor: I saw a player who couldn’t see score a goal.
Cooper : I noticed in the video there was sigh language. 
William: When I was younger I want to Rugby tots he had a disability and he was a really good player.
Victor: I saw people with disabilities  racing in electric bikes.
Ruby : I thought that if you were in a wheel chair and went down a massive ramp you would probably fall.
Charlie : There was a blind lady who would play the piano really well  
Cara: Before now I didn’t know that people with no arms can still do archery
