 Many areas along the River Severn are threatened with flooding. The situation has been getting worse over the last decade. Farmers have lost livestock, homes have been flooded, vehicles have been swept off the road and yet there are plans to continue to build on the floodplain. The Flood Defence Team must find out why the river is flooding so badly. What, if anything can be done to protect the land and what will happen if more building take place alongside the river? Time is running out! The weather is getting worse! The flood season is on the way… We found out where the River Severn flowed on a UK map. We studied images of recent flooding in Shrewsbury, thought about the impact it would have and the people and skills that would be needed to prevent this in future.
