This afternoon we used all of our knowledge about orchestras to great use, by making our very own! We looked carefully at a few more tuned instruments and then talked about how we could make a bluebells orchestra. The children knew the instruments had to sit in groups and the conductor stood at the front being in charge!

We have read the Pantasaurus NSPCC book and enjoyed the song on the interactive white board at the end.
We discussed the importance of saying no and we know that our bodies belong to us and are private. Click the link below to see the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lL07JOGU5o Sense of belonging to different groups.
I started the conversation asking 'What different groups do we belong to?' Zephie answered by saying she belongs to her family group and 4 people live in her house but her family is much bigger' George said he has friends at school and plays with his cousins as they belong to his family. Eliza said she also has family and friends Arthur said he belongs to a swimming group after school. Bella said she belongs to class Bluebells and the whole school Morda Primary. We played the super game of 'pass the whisper' to our friends. It was really funny when we didn't use our listening skills well. We had to concentrate and talk slowly.
Bluebells children also helped Mrs JJ create a bigger space for our self regulation area. Pupils have been using the feelings chart, the worry box and the calming down fidget toys to explore and express their feelings. We entered on Monday to find the oven door open and little footprints where the GBM has pattered out of our classroom. We had to find him, he is missing! Arthur thinks he may have been eaten by a sheep from the field! Liam thinks he has gone off on holiday and Emrys had the good idea of creating a missing poster of the GBM and writing down what he looks like. Hopefully we will find him!
Children wrote about his smile, buttons, legs and arms. What a fantastic few weeks learning all about the Great Fire and the events in History. Here is some of our learning from the topic wall. Bluebells children have been busy creating a bridge for the GBM so he doesn't have to ask Fox to help!
Similar yet different! We had a great circle time playing movement games together before sharing what we like and dislike.
We discovered all of us like CHOCOLATE and some boys love the building equipment in Bluebells class. A few of us like animals, especially small rabbits! We have similarities and differences! We shared a lovely video on what pets and certain animals need. After lots of discussion pupils were saying how animals all need the right things and they can be different. Dogs need walking everyday and fish need clean water.
We had a really great discussion on knowing the animal well before you buy it so they can receive the best care. Click below to share the video with your child again https://video.link/w/2ILQ This afternoon we have been discovering how to play tuned instruments. We are able to say if the instruments are wind, string or percussion! We looked carefully at a stringed instrument (violin) and talked about how we can make different musical notes. Then we looked at a trumpet and had a great go at making sounds with it. |
