We had a class group discussion on what makes a good friend. We played 'fruit salad' again to meet and sit next to new friends. During chats we came up with ways to help friends be included. This is what we said:
Play with them, hug them, ask them if they are happy or sad, and say sorry if we have upset them. We know we must always tell a grown up if we see something mean happening to other children. We discussed our school values of kindness, compassion and fairness and ways to show these values in our play.

This afternoon we really enjoyed playing 'Fruit salad'. We were called different fruits and moved chairs when Miss Butler called out our fruit name. When we were sitting next to a new friend we asked them questions about their favourite food, colour and toys. We then went into new groups and chatted about how we could make the tallest tower. We had 5 minutes to discuss our tower plan before getting on to working as a team to create the biggest tower. We learnt lots about our new friends and how to communicate with each other - team work makes the dream work. We have been leaning all about our marvellous bodies and our body parts. We have been reading the story 'Funny Bones' and were tasked with the job of creating this skeleton. In our groups we chatted and worked as a team to get all the body parts in the right order. We also used our phonics sounds to help us write labels for the different body parts. |
