We had a great time walking and talking about Morda. We noticed lots of houses, safe roads and the corner shop. We saw signs to show people where to find places.
Our school is one of the biggest buildings in Morda. In our class literacy book Rosie's Walk, one character is a cheeky fox who wants to catch Rosie. last week we had a visit from the farmer who is getting worried about these foxes and the trouble they are causing to his hens.
He was asking for our help. We imagined ourselves as a team of Fox rescue hunters and set to work on creating a trap to catch the fox. the trap had to be one that did not hurt any of the animals. We helped catch them and made a better, more secure fence for the farmer BUT... someone noticed fox babies had been left behind! they are now missing their mother fox. What should we do? Thanks to Tim Taylor for helping Bluebells have great fun and a wonderful learning experience during this session. Bluebells had lots of fun coming to school in our spotty clothes and raising lots of money for Children in Need. We all completed the year 6 treasure hunt and enjoyed a prize at the end.Bluebells children shared together what they do to show kindness and what they like to see. Today we have celebrated world kindness day.We have loved celebrating our differences and showing our kindness today. We are all unique and different just like out thumb prints. It would be very boring if we were all the same just like the characters in the Hueys book.
We also read 'Kindness is my Superpower'...it most definitely is in bluebells. Kindness has been everywhere today with children helping other children, showing compassion when someone was upset and saying kind words to each other. Well Done our Superhero Bluebells Bluebells pupils have been hard at work on our topic of Marvellous Me! We will be focussing on the features of Morda Village in Geography and taking a walk next week.
Our literacy focus is the story Rosie's Walk'. She takes a walk looking at the features of around the farm...but she isn't alone! (Parents I know your child will tell you more of this lovely journey story) This is Bluebells Reading Bear. He loves going home with different people and having stories read to him with you and your family. Inside the bag are wonderful stories and some hot chocolate to snuggle up with. Please enjoy reading bear for 2 nights before returning to Bluebells.
