Our mantle of the expert story began with an encounter with John Lennon. He explained that The Beatles have been asked to write a song for the very first satellite broadcast for the BBC. How do you think The Beatles would have felt knowing that their song was going to be heard all over the world? I wonder what they would want to say to the whole world? We imagined we were The Beatles and created a still image of John Lennon and Paul McCartney writing their new song. We found out from the BBC that the song was being transmitted in four days time. We heard from John Lennon again as he wrote the song 'All you need is love'. The BBC needed to work quickly to get the studio ready for the broadcast. I wonder what roles the team would have? Set up the drums Guitar tuning Check microphones Sound technicians Cameras Director Costume designers Props and staging Promotion and advert for the broadcast Lighting Speakers and amplifiers The team needed to work quickly to get the studio set up ready for The Beatles broadcast. 1960's Pop ArtWe began looking at some 1960's Pop Art and discussing what we liked about it and what we noticed about the work. We wrote and sketched some of our thoughts.
