Forest School - with a curious mind.

Today we channelled our 'inner Charles Darwin' and used our curious minds to think like he did. 

• Why are leaves different shapes and colours?
• Why are the leaves higher up the beech tree changing to yellow before the lower leaves?
• Why do some leaves have a smooth edge and some a bumpy edge?
• Why do leaves have veins and how many do they have?
• How has the appearance of Forest School changed in the last 2 weeks?

Each question we thought of seemed to generate a new question. We pressed leaves, bark and twigs into clay so that we could study the patterns in more detail. Autumn is a great season for leaf spotting!
