In our geography topic we are focusing on reading and following maps. So, in the forest school area we drew maps using symbols, for our partner to follow. Whale protection team safety checks...."Before we go on our first expedition in the submarine, we will need some training” We watched a short video clip, which showed us how a team would help a whale which had been disentangled. We discussed what data will we need to monitor on our trip (oxygen levels, food supply, depth of water, how many whales seen etc..) What roles would be needed on the submarine? The team showed what role they would take on as a still photograph. Half of the room interviewed the others to find out more about the jobs that they were doing. What equipment would we need before we get into the submarine? The team packed their bag of equipment. The team then carried out a full safety check of the submarine and a full description of checks were written and put in the headquarters ready for our mission tomorrow. Welcome to Daffodils class Woody and Sticky! In science, our topic is animals. One of our investigation questions is 'How do animals live and grow?' So, to find out we have some stick insect eggs which will begin to hatch in the next few weeks. We have already got two insects which we need to look after very carefully. We are learning about what they like to eat and what they will need for shelter.
