We were visited by a dental nurse who told us how to look after our teeth. She talked about having a good diet and how to brush our teeth correctly. We were given a chart to keep check on when we brushed our teeth and to make sure we brush them twice a day. Cricket workshopAs part of our PE session we took part in a cricket workshop. We learnt some of the skills required to play cricket. Our Victorian Morda story continuesWe met Elizabeth again, she read from her diary which told us all about her awful day in the workhouse and some of the things that had happened. We wanted to find out more about what life would have been like in Morda workhouse, so we did some research to find out who would have lived in the workhouse and what they would have done. A happy ending to our Morda workhouse storyWhen we met Elizabeth again, she appeared happier. She had arranged an amateur dramatics performance to raise money for the workhouse. The money that was raised would buy musical instruments for the children at the workhouse. We got into role as Elizabeth, and showed what it would have felt like to have put on the performance. Our science investigation - What do plants need to grow?We began planning our science investigation - what do plants need to grow. We used our planning board with our talk partner and discussed what we would keep the same, what we would change and make predictions about what would happen in the investigation. We planted seeds and placed one without light, one without water and one without oxygen. We will monitor the seeds through out the week to see what happens! We also started planting our sunflower seeds. I wonder whose sunflower will grow the tallest?
