https://www.rspb.org.uk/fun-and-learning/for-teachers/schools-birdwatch/ We are taking part in the RSPB Big Schools' Birdwatch, which means that Daffodils will be making a count of the different types of bird that we see at school and the numbers of them that we see at any one time. We spent our session today preparing for the birds, so that next time we will have plenty of bird visitors!(fingers crossed) We filled the feeders with bird seeds and peanuts and scattered some mealworms around the logs. Blackbirds and Robins love mealworms. Blue Tits and finches love seeds. We checked out good places to birdwatch and made some cheerio bird treats. We listened to the hedge sparrows and starlings jabbering away and tried to copy the song of the goldfinch and magpie.
Hopefully we'll see plenty of birds next week !
