The Snow Queen Today, we continued our work on the Snow Queen. We listened to and analysed the film version of a traditional story. We listened to a cello and a cornet. We learnt about how sound were made on the instruments, and which musical families they belonged to. We used a story board to analyse how music is used to support the story. We were also able to recognise different instruments including our voices. E knew that a bow was made out of horse hair! We talked about how a sound box on a cello increases the volume by allowing sound to travel around the instrument and how this contrast with a cornet which has long tubes to carry the sound!
