We found out that sledging biscuits in Antarctica are one of the two foods that Antarctic exploration was built on, (the other is pemmican) they are still in use today, eaten by people who are working away from bases in Antarctica as a dietary staple. We watched some of Ben Fogle's expedition to the Antarctic, following in the footsteps of Ernest Shackleton. As part of his expedition, he ate some of the sledging biscuits and pemmican. We decided to make some to see what they are really like and if we could survive on sledging biscuits! If you would like to try sledging biscuits at home, here is the recipe!
