After our visit from Doodle Deb and practising on cardboard we were ready to complete our final window designs! Shamrocks classroom has been brought to life by the children's winter themed art!
The hard work, effort and determination from all of you has blown me away and I think you'll agree that Shamrocks looks wonderful!

Shamrocks have worked hard to create an Advent calendar for the school hall (one window to open on each of the whole school assemblies in December).
We broke the Nativity story down into eight parts and each group chose one part of the story to illustrate. We then copied sections of the Nativity story (told through poetry) in our neatest handwriting to accompany each scene. As each scene is revealed in assembly, we read out the accompanying poem for that part of the Nativity and so the story of Jesus' birth is recounted throughout the month of December, piece by piece, like a jigsaw. As we reveal each section of the story I will update the blog! Keep watching! Shamrocks had a fantastic morning working with the extremely talented local artist, Doodle Deb, who was incredibly kind enough to give up some of her time over the busy festive period to answer our questions, give us a workshop and even give us each a creative gift!
DoodleDeb is responsible for many of the local window art displays, which make the town look so festive at this time of the year, inspiring us to reach out to her. We spent the morning unleashing our creativity and I was blown away with the final pieces of artwork Shamrocks created using Posca pens on brown cardboard/paper. I think many of us have been inspired to follow our dreams and to be whatever we dream of being (and doing whatever brings us joy) when we leave school! The 2023 Christmas celebrations are well and truly underway! Shamrocks represented Morda amazingly at Theatre Severn when we went to watch Jack and the Beanstalk (Oh no we didn't! Oh yes we did!) It was wonderful to see everyone joining in and dancing away to the awesome music. What a way to kick off the Christmas Celebrations The following day was Christmas Jumper day and we headed straight back out to The Orthopaedic Hospital to sing at their Christmas Bazaar alongside Whittington's Year 6s. What a festive choir we formed. I couldn't have been prouder of our children, for their effort, their beautiful singing, their teamwork, and their spectacular smiles as they performed! To top it off we were extremely lucky to each receive a Build a Bear as a Christmas gift for singing in the concert. This week we have continued our festivities by visiting Aico to watch Home Alone on the big screen in their auditorium. Many giggles could be heard and again we were lucky to each receive a selection box from Aico. We are now looking forward to the Christmas Nativity Service at St Oswald's Church this Wednesday afternoon afternoon (13th December - 2.30pm). Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us and to watch Year 6 take on their lead roles in the performance. We received a letter from PCC John Campion inviting us to participate in his mini police officer poster competition. We discussed what key messages would need to be shared and the children got busy creating their best designs...
